After hearing about thefts of food from a local supermarket Foodbank collection point during the first weeks of lockdown, John knew that this vital charity must not be forgotten so devised a challenge to climb the height of Mount Everest on the stairs of his house to raise money and awareness of this vital charity. The crazy challenge raised over £5000 and caught the imagination of the world. BBC news came to Shoreham to cover the final day of the challenge and the story became the top trending story. Following interviews with CNN and Reuters the story went global and was shown as a news item around the globe. During the challenge John's hard working support team spoke to the press departments of all the UK's major supermarkets and within weeks they had donated millions of pounds of food to the Trussell Trust.
